Intake (2 hours)
Review of symptoms, developmental history, and personal background.
Intervention Sessions (1 hour)
Targeted intervention sessions focused on symptoms and improving day-to-day functioning.
Intervention without a full evaluation may be possible. This option can be faster and more affordable, although depending on the complexity of the difficulties, a full assessment may still be recommended. Cognitive rehabilitation may be offered for adults with ADHD, head injuries, or post-surgical challenges, with the goal of improving everyday functioning. Medication decisions remain under the supervision of your physician.
What is included in the evaluation?
A neuropsychological evaluation includes interviewing, formal testing, collection of questionnaires (by you and by others, review of old report cards, we sometimes contact your spouse or ask for information from your parents. This is followed by an in-depth analysis, then a detailed written report. Much of the work happens behind the scenes. We hope our interpretations and reports provide answers and meaningful recommendations.
How would I know if I need a full evaluation?
The process begins with an intake appointment (Step 1): we review your history, concerns, and goals together then decide if a full neuropsychological assessment is appropriate for your situation and needs. In some cases, we may offer recommendations or suggest more suitable resources. If an assessment is indicated, the evaluation unfolds over several weeks, for an in-depth understanding of your cognitive profile.
